The Texan Temple of Speed cements its place in Formula 1’s future: the renewal is now official.

Rumors had been circulating, but it’s finally confirmed — Formula 1 and the Circuit of The Americas will continue their partnership at least until 2034. The official announcement arrived during the United States Grand Prix weekend, marking a decade-long extension that further strengthens F1’s presence in the United States — a market booming under Liberty Media’s ownership.

Since its debut in 2012, the United States GP has become one of the most spectacular and popular events on the calendar, attracting over 430,000 fans in recent years. The COTA has built its reputation as the perfect blend of on-track adrenaline and off-track entertainment, complete with concerts, events, and an atmosphere unlike any other — earning its title as “the American home of Formula 1.”

The 5.5 km track — known for its steep uphill run to Turn 1 and the rapid-fire Turns 3–6 inspired by Silverstone’s legendary Maggots and Becketts — has hosted thrilling battles and memorable victories. Six different winners in 13 editions, with Lewis Hamilton holding the record with five wins. Last year, Charles Leclerc broke Verstappen’s dominance by taking victory, leading Ferrari to a historic one-two with Carlos Sainz. This season, the fight between Verstappen, Norris, and Leclerc promises another electric showdown.

Economically, the event is a powerhouse — generating over $7 billion for the Texas economy in ten years, including more than $1 billion in 2023 alone, underlining the Grand Prix’s massive regional impact.

“The Austin GP is now a benchmark for fans and teams,” said Stefano Domenicali, F1 CEO. “This renewal reflects Formula 1’s strength and growth in the United States.”

For Bobby Epstein, COTA’s chairman, it’s “a confirmation of the bond between Texas and Formula 1.” With this agreement, Austin will become the longest-running U.S. circuit in F1 history, surpassing the legendary Watkins Glen.

A clear message from Formula 1: the sport is here to stay in America. And Austin — with its iconic uphill Turn 1 and roaring fans — will remain the beating heart of that expansion.
