During the lengthy interview at BSMT, Charles Leclerc touched on many topics, including his retirement..

Charles Leclerc, a guest of Gianluca Gazzoli on his podcast “Passa del BSMT,” touched on many topics, thoroughly analyzing his career so far and what could still happen. From the start with karts: “I saw the karts and asked if I could go for a lap. I did a first lap behind Jules’s father with a rope attached between the two karts to make sure I had the right reflexes. Then we removed the rope and I continued until the fuel ran out.”

On his relationship with his father (who passed away prematurely before Charles landed in Formula 1) and that lie:“I told him I had signed for Formula 1 when it wasn’t true yet. I knew it was the most important thing for him… luckily I was only a year late.” And again: “There are two people: the Charles at home and the one who lowers his visor. In that moment, friendship is put aside.”

Motorsport, par excellence, rhymes with risk, and Leclerc knows very well how to manage the subtle difference between adrenaline and fear: “The day I feel afraid, I will stop, because you can’t have that feeling if you want to do something special.” On the most beautiful emotions he experienced on the track, he said: “Monza 2019 and Monaco 2024 are the only races where I struggled to stay in my bubble. Winning on the streets where I took the bus to school was incredible.”
