By 2027, the Monza circuit will undergo major changes: here are the approved upgrades.
The Monza City Council approved yesterday the modernization plan for the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, designed to meet the evolving requirements of Formula 1, also following recent requests from CEO Stefano Domenicali.
Among the planned redevelopment works are:
- Permanent roof covering above the pit building
- A new race control
- A new and modern media center.

The project, supported by numerous institutions, aims to secure future development and preserve the economic impact of around €250 million per year for the local area – a key contribution to the regional economy. The work is scheduled to be completed before the 2027 Grand Prix.
Monza Circuit Modernization: Official Statement
Following the green light from the Monza City Council during the April 9 session, three strategic resolutions were approved to adapt the circuit to modern Formula 1 requirements, strengthening its position in the international motorsport landscape. The upgrades include a permanent roof above the pit building, a new race control, and a new press room.

The near-unanimous consensus confirms the shared value of this project and the strategic importance of the circuit for the region and the country, generating an economic impact of around €250 million annually.
