Extreme heat, risk of rain, and a wide-open title fight: everything is set for the 2026 Miami Grand Prix!

Formula 1 left Japan about a month ago and now heads to the United States for one of the three American rounds of the season: the Miami Grand Prix. After the first big twist of the season in Suzuka — with Andrea Kimi Antonelli taking the championship lead (the youngest ever) — the Miami weekend already becomes a key turning point for the 2026 title battle.

The circuit: Miami International Autodrome

Racing takes place at the Miami International Autodrome, a modern street circuit combining long straights, slow corners, and more technical sections. Compared to Suzuka, the technical context changes completely: pure aerodynamic downforce matters less, while traction becomes crucial, and thermal management plays a central role.

High temperatures will also put pressure on tyres, the new power units, and brakes, making the characteristics of the new cars decisive right from the start.

Weather forecast for Miami

From a weather perspective, the weekend will be typically extreme: Friday is expected to be sunny with temperatures around 30°C, while Saturday will be more variable with partly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching up to 34°C.

The real unknown is Sunday, where there is currently a 25% chance of rain – something that could completely change the race scenario, especially after a full weekend run on hot asphalt.
