The official release of F1 2027 calendar is waiting, as two new circuits are about to come in
The official release of the 2027 F1 calendar is expected in the coming weeks, promising numerous updates and two major returns. Although we are only on the eve of the fourth race of the 2026 season—the debut year for the new technical regulations—the circus is already looking ahead to next year’s spectacle.
Several innovations and, more importantly, two returning venues are set to define the upcoming season, which is poised to host a record-breaking 25 races.
The 25-Race Schedule and Date Leaks
According to reports from Planet F1 and Formula Türkiye, the 2027 schedule could undergo a significant overhaul. Beyond the expansion from 24 to 25 rounds, the “rotation” policy between European Grands Prix will come into play, with Barcelona reportedly making way for Spa-Francorchamps.
Further surprises may be in store: the season opener might shift from its traditional home in Melbourne to Sakhir, Bahrain, scheduled for the weekend of March 12–14. This wouldn’t be a first, as the Gulf circuit previously hosted the season openers between 2022 and 2024.
Following Bahrain, the circus is expected to move to Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian GP, before heading to Melbourne and the Far East double-header in China and Japan. Europe is slated to host its first race only on June 6 in Monte Carlo, followed by Portimão, which is anticipated as the ninth round of the year.
After the summer break, Madrid (August 29) is rumored to precede the most anticipated event for Italian fans: Monza. Sources suggest the Italian Grand Prix in Brianza could take place on September 5, 2027, followed two weeks later by the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park. The Turkish track would serve as the sixteenth round and the final European race of the season.
The season will then conclude with Azerbaijan, Singapore, and an American triple-header, before the final stretch through Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, with the season finale expected on December 5.
