Carlos Sainz spoke to the British team’s official channels ahead of the Miami round, the fourth race of the year.
Williams‘ new season will begin in Miami. After the pre-season ordeal, which compromised the Barcelona tests and made the first three weekends very complicated, the British team arrives in Florida with a completely new car (and no longer overweight), with the hope and confidence of having closed, at least partially, the gap that separated them from the midfield teams.
Indeed, Williams is confident, as Carlos Sainz’s comments underline. These are the Spaniard’s words: “I’m ready to get back in the car after this early break, which has given us the opportunity to review the start of the season and make up ground on some areas we want to improve. A big thank you to the Grove team for their commitment in recent weeks. There will still be a lot of work to do during the season, but this is a crucial time to start making up ground.
The circuit is unique, with a mix of high- and low-speed elements and quick changes of direction that reward determination. I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and make the most of the opportunities that present themselves. Vamos!”
