During his usual press conference, Charles Leclerc also addressed the possibility of a wet race.

The weather could completely disrupt the Miami weekend. According to the latest forecasts, Sunday’s skies are expected to be unrelenting, with thunderstorms and lightning that could significantly, or almost significantly, compromise the regular running of the Florida GP. To address this, the Federation has called a meeting with the drivers to assess the situation and make any decisions, such as postponing the race itself.

In wet conditions, everything could be turned upside down, starting with safety. This topic was addressed by Charles Leclerc during his usual press conference. The Monegasque driver said: “I think the strange thing about these cars in the wet is that you can actually go much faster at the end of the straights than in the dry. Using less battery means you don’t have the usual power drops. It’s a bit strange and counterintuitive. The problem is that, with the poor visibility and different engine strategies, you can find yourself in difficult situations. In the rain, we’re more passengers than drivers. You accelerate flat out and expect the car in front to go at the same speed, but now with these cars that’s no longer the case.”
