What happened to Hadjar: the investigation

As early as this morning, reports had already begun to emerge about possible technical irregularities found on his car, following the FIA statement released after the session.

Reading the document, the issue is clear: post-session technical checks revealed an anomaly related to the car’s floor, an element that has always been crucial in Formula 1. On this matter, as often happens, the FIA is extremely strict: even minimal deviations can lead to performance advantages and, consequently, very severe penalties from the stewards.

Meanwhile, the FIA has not only been working on this: it’s worth remembering that the Grand Prix will start at 19:00 CEST time (13:00 local), instead of the originally scheduled 22:00, due to the incoming weather system over Miami.

The FIA stewards’ decision on Hadjar

In the end, after hours of checks and evaluations, the final decision has arrived: Isack Hadjar has been disqualified due to an irregularity with the floor of his car. The French driver therefore loses his previous grid position (P9) and will start from the back of the grid.
