An incredible start to the season for Máximo Quiles: the Moto3 championship leader continues to make history weekend after weekend.
Unstoppable! In Barcelona, Máximo Quiles proved he has the situation completely under control. After a decent weekend without any particular spark, the Murcian rider looked to be struggling during Sunday’s race until shortly before the end. In the final laps, however, he pulled off overtake after overtake and snatched the top step of the podium just before the finish line.
Máximo Quiles’ record
For Máximo, this marks his fourth victory of the season in only six races, but the truly extraordinary fact is that rider #28 of Team Aspar is genuinely rewriting the history of the entire category. After last week’s record, he now also holds the best start to a season after six races. Here is the ranking of the top five riders:
- Maximo Quiles (2026) – 140
- Luis Salom (2013) – 127
- Brad Binder (2016) – 127
- Danny Kent (2015) – 124
- David Alonso (2024) – 118
In addition, it is worth noting that Quiles has collected an impressive 140 points out of a possible 150 — more than 93% of the available total — and his lead over the closest rival already stands at 64 points! The protégé of Marc Márquez can truly dream big and aim for the Moto3 record of 14 victories in a single season, currently held by David Alonso.
