The Montreal race could be conditioned (once again) by rain: here are the forecasts for the weekend- Weather Canada GP

The Formula 1 circus is ready to return to the track after the post-Miami break, but, once again, the weather worries drivers and organizers. After the anticipation of the race in Florida due to the fear of heavy rain that seemed could hit the track, the Canada weekend too could be tormented by thunderstorms.

Rain in Montreal: the PRECEDENTS…

The Québec race has often been tormented by bad weather: here are the last 5 precedents:

2025: the weekend was dry;
2024: the race was run in the rain;
2023: the weekend was entirely conditioned by rain;
2022: the qualifying was in the rain: there were several accidents precisely due to the weather conditions;
2019: the weekend was dry;

There are also several precedents passed into history in which the Canada race was conditioned by weather conditions. All fans of Formula 1 and Ferrari remember the 1981 race, with the magic of Gilles Villeneuve, home idol and revered by the fans of the Rossa. The aviator had completed a fantastic race, racing at times with the broken front wing that prevented his view of the track ahead of him.

The WEATHER for the 2026 Montreal GP

Albeit not as threatening as in Miami, rain could play an important role in the Canadian weekend. While for Friday and Saturday the weather should be sunny, with about 20 degrees on average and few wind gusts, the discussion for Sunday becomes more complex.

The risk of rain is over 70% for Sunday, therefore we could be facing the first rainy session of the whole year. Precipitacions will have to be kept under control, hoping that, this weekend too, the rain does not preclude the fun!
