Arriving just before lights out, a penalty has reshuffled the Canadian Grand Prix starting grid.
George Russell dominates Montreal and snatches pole position from Andrea Kimi Antonelli by just 68 thousandths, securing his second pole of the season at one of his favourite tracks.

Qualifying recap
The final Q3 order was decided in the last seconds of the session. McLaren locked out the second row with Lando Norris ahead of Oscar Piastri, while Ferrari endured a tough day: Lewis Hamilton finished 5th, with Charles Leclerc down in 8th.
Standout performances came from Isack Hadjar and Franco Colapinto: Hadjar topped Q2 and missed the front runners in Q3 by just 28 thousandths, while Colapinto once again reached Q3, unlike teammate Pierre Gasly, who was stuck in 14th.

Further back, both Cadillac and Aston Martin struggled and occupy the last rows of the grid. Fernando Alonso failed to reach Q2 after yesterday’s crash, while Williams also had a difficult session, with Carlos Sainz only 15th.
