Lewis Hamilton has thanked Fred Vasseur for the enormous efforts made in the British driver’s adaptation process within the team
Lewis Hamilton expresses his gratitude to Fred Vasseur. The seven-time World Champion, undoubtedly fresh off his best weekend since donning the red suit, is more fired up than ever.

Following his second-place finish in Montreal, the Briton finally seems to have found the perfect formula to make his relationship with the SF-26 and the world of the Prancing Horse take off. And, according to his words today, he owes much of this to the team principal of the Rossa, Fred Vasseur.
Hamilton’s words and his praise for Carlo Santi
Following his split with Riccardo Adami at the end of the 2025 season (and a relationship that was never exactly idyllic), Hamilton has found support in his new race engineer, Carlo Santi.

Having been with the Scuderia for years, Santi previously served as Kimi Raikkonen’s race engineer during the 2018 season, when Maurizio Arrivabene was at the helm of Ferrari.
And while, as mentioned, the chemistry between Lewis and Adami (Vettel’s historic, long-time race engineer) never quite blossomed, his understanding with the engineer from Verona seems to be going exceedingly well. Hamilton praised him, stating: “My engineer is absolutely fantastic, and I truly enjoy working with him.”
As reported by FormulaPassion.it, the Englishman continued: “This weekend, he helped me extract even more performance from the car, bringing it to a much more optimal level. I was finally able to attack all the corners and, as I said, there were many changes that I had to request”.

Finally, his expression of gratitude towards his team principal: “Vasseur has supported me immensely and, once again, has done everything to make me feel comfortable; he moved mountains, and this is finally starting to reflect in my performances.”
Santi was appointed as interim race engineer for Hamilton, pending a transition that would bring in Grosjean, a former engineer from McLaren. However, this transition, which the top management of the Rossa claimed would be swift, seems day by day to be increasingly gradual, if not definitively canceled altogether.
