Ducati has revealed a special livery for the first Italian round of the 2026 MotoGP season.

Red, as tradition demands — but not only red. The Ducati Desmosedici GP machines of Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez will feature a very distinctive design at the Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix. As often happens, Italian teams and riders celebrate the iconic Tuscan event with special liveries and helmets — but Ducati’s latest design is not only a tribute to Italy. There is much more behind it.

A tribute to Ducati history

100 years of pure excellence, 10 iconic models, all in one livery.” That was the message accompanying the social media reveal of Ducati’s Mugello design. The tribute also celebrates the 100-year history of the Italian manufacturer, founded in 1926 by engineer Antonio Cavalieri Ducati. Interestingly, the company originally specialized in radio communication technologies and was initially named “Società Scientifica Radiobrevetti Ducati.” From there began a century of “pure excellence.”

The final look is particularly striking. The Desmosedici bikes will appear almost patchwork-style, featuring references to 10 historic Ducati models that helped shape the identity of the Borgo Panigale brand.
The same concept extends to the riders’ gear, especially the racing suits of Márquez and Bagnaia, where the traditional Ducati red almost disappears from the front section. The livery presentation, held on the Mugello main straight, also served as the launch event for the “Collection 100” project. This is a special edition initiative featuring 10 Ducati models, each limited to just 100 units, celebrating 10 defining moments in the history of the Bologna-based manufacturer.
