Formula 1 driver Damon Hill says goodbye to his Sky Sports F1 adventure after 13 long years. “All good things come to an end,” he commented.

The collaboration between Damon Hill and Sky Sports F1 continued for more than a decade; both sides described the decade-long alliance, now at an end, as incredible and fantastic. There have been thirteen years during which the British driver, world champion in 1996, has contributed as a technical expert; the last Grand Prix in which Damon Hill had participated, in the guise of commentator for Sky, was at Interlagos, where we witnessed a real masterclass from Max Verstappen, and, already from that South American appointment, Damon Hill had hinted that his collaboration the television would soon come to an end.

Yesterday, it was the driver himself who confirmed the news on his social media channels with a post in which he bids farewell to the family of the British broadcaster: “It has been 13 fantastic years with Sky Sports F1, but all good things must come to an end. I will miss this extraordinary group of professionals with whom it has been a pleasure to work. I look forward to facing new challenges“. However, based on the 64-year-old’s statements, it doesn’t seem like a definite farewell to motorsport. In fact, it’s not ruled out that we might see Hill embarking on a new adventure soon.

Billy McGinty, also the director of Sky Sports F1, has confirmed the departure of the World Champion from television: “We thank Damon Hill for 13 incredible years with the Sky Sports F1 team. He has been a key part of our coverage, bringing a unique skill, passion, and perspective shaped by his legendary career. He has entertained and inspired fans all over the world. We wish him all the best for the next chapter“. Within the Sky Sports F1 orbit, Damon Hill wasn’t the only driver to have worked with the British broadcaster; Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg have also collaborated with the network.
