Fernando Alonso gave an interview to the BBC, talking about the arrival of Adrian Newey at Aston Martin and the possibilities of a title in 2026.
The 2026 Formula 1 season will, by all means, be one of the most anticipated ever. The regulatory changes, which were recently modified, could offer some teams the opportunity to rise again after a period of scarce victories and important placements. One of these teams is certainly Aston Martin, which, after a brilliant 2023, struggled quite a bit in the just-concluded season.
The arrival of Adrian Newey, however, has energized the entire team, starting with Fernando Alonso. The Spanish driver, interviewed by the BBC, spoke about 2026. These are his words: “Expectations will be high because it will be a new car, with a change in regulations, a car designed by Adrian. It will probably be my last season in F1, because my contract ends at the end of 2026. This is the moment of delivery and truth. High expectations.”
Regarding the third title, he said: “I still dream of it. Why not? I know that 2026 is probably my only chance because 2025 is extremely difficult, but I keep dreaming. F1 is for dreamers, probably, because anything can happen. Let’s see.”
