Sergio Perez and Red Bull will part ways at the end of the season: the team has now released an official statement.
Sergio Perez is officially stepping away from Formula 1. Following recent rumors, the announcement confirms the separation between the Mexican driver and Red Bull at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Red Bull and Perez’s statement
After four incredible seasons together, Oracle Red Bull Racing and Sergio Pérez have decided to part ways. During this time, Checo has played a crucial role, securing numerous Grand Prix wins, countless podiums, and two Constructors’ World Championships, significantly contributing to the team’s most successful era in Formula 1.
Reflecting on his time with Red Bull Racing, Sergio stated:
“I am incredibly grateful for the past four years with Red Bull Racing and for the opportunity to race with such an extraordinary team. Driving for Red Bull has been an unforgettable experience, and I will always cherish the successes we achieved together. We broke records, reached amazing milestones, and I had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people along the way.
A huge thank you to everyone in the team—from management, engineers, and mechanics, to catering, hospitality, kitchen staff, marketing, and communications, as well as everyone at Milton Keynes. I wish you all the best for the future.
It has also been an honor to race alongside Max as a teammate all these years and to share in our successes.
A special thank you to the fans around the world, especially the Mexican fans, for your constant support every single day. See you soon.
And remember… never give up!”
Perez OUT: Who will replace him?
The French broadcaster Canal+ had already confirmed that the Mexican driver’s adventure with Red Bull was coming to an end, with Liam Lawson set to take his place alongside Max Verstappen.
No chance for Tsunoda: despite positive feedback from post-season tests, he has been confirmed at Racing Bulls. Isaac Hadjar remains the leading candidate to race alongside the Japanese driver in 2025.
