Ferrari has set Lewis Hamilton’s official pre-season program, the Englishman will test in Fiorano and Barcelona.
For a few days now, Lewis Hamilton has officially been a new driver for Ferrari. The seven-time world champion, currently on vacation like his colleagues, will soon be in Italy to get familiar with the environment and the team, as well as for the pre-season tests.
Ferrari has indeed set a rather flexible program to allow Sir Lewis to get accustomed to the various components of the Maranello car. The latest FIA guidelines allow new drivers to complete a maximum of 1,000 km with cars from previous years, and Ferrari will aim to make use of every single meter to help Hamilton become familiar with the Red car.
The much-awaited debut of the seven-time world champion will take place at the Fiorano circuit between January 20 and 21, a date that will be officially confirmed closer to the event due to weather conditions. A significant crowd is expected for Lewis Hamilton‘s ‘first day of school.’
According to sources close to Ferrari, the tests will continue at the Barcelona circuit at the end of January, with hopes of favorable temperatures and clear days. The Maranello team has reserved the Catalan track for a week to ensure Hamilton has enough days to test the Ferrari.
