Frederic Vasseur gave an interview to F1TV discussing expectations for the new season, which begins in just over a month.

On February 1, 2024, exactly one year ago, Ferrari officially announced the signing of Lewis Hamilton for the following season. 365 days later, the seven-time world champion arrived in Maranello, where he tested the Ferrari both at Fiorano and during the test week in Barcelona (also causing an incident).

The season that will start in a month, with testing in Bahrain, is expected to be fiercely competitive, with at least four teams battling for victory. Among them, of course, is Ferrari, but the competition, as Frederic Vasseur pointed out, will be tough and the level very high.

The Ferrari team principal gave an interview to F1TV discussing expectations for the new season. Here’s what he had to say: “Everyone has to take risks, if you don’t, you’re dead. Developing a new car is always complicated, but this year it’s even more so because 2025 won’t be like any other season. We’ll have to start working on 2026 soon, and that’s why it will be crucial to be immediately competitive in Bahrain. With development being cut short, those starting behind will have little chance of catching up.”

He then added: “I think we are making good progress, both as a team and technically. We’re heading in the right direction, but the level of competitiveness will be very high. McLaren is working well, Red Bull and Mercedes will do everything they can to return to the top, and we’re looking at a battle between at least four teams. It will be a tough challenge, but if we do everything right, we’ll be in the fight for the title.”
