The confirmation has arrived in recent hours from CEO Mattia Binotto himself: in addition to its operational base in Hinwil, Sauber will establish a new headquarters in the United Kingdom
Exciting changes are on the horizon for Sauber! The Swiss team, fresh from its partnership with Audi and gearing up for a rebrand in 2026 (along with hopes for a performance boost following its 2024 results), is set for another major transformation: the addition of a brand-new facility. The Swiss outfit is planning to expand its operations beyond Hinwil, Switzerland. As confirmed by Mattia Binotto, the new site will be located in England, right in the heart of the so-called “Motorsport Valley,” near Milton Keynes and Silverstone.

The new facility, named the “Sauber Motorsport Technology Centre UK,” will serve as an additional operational hub alongside Hinwil. This move should come as no surprise; since his appointment, CEO Mattia Binotto has been clear about the team’s urgent need for fresh talent, cutting-edge technology, and an additional base beyond Hinwil and Neuburg—Audi’s German headquarters, which will play a key role in Sauber’s transformation from 2026. This strategic expansion is part of Sauber’s preparation for the crucial 2026 season, when Audi officially enters Formula 1, and the team cannot afford to be unprepared.
Binotto’s statement: “A success”
Mattia Binotto made a promise, and he delivered. Sauber will proceed with establishing a third headquarters, partially relocating its operations to the UK. The success of this plan has been confirmed:
“We are excited to have our own technical center in the United Kingdom, which will integrate with our key sites in Hinwil and Neuburg. These locations will continue to lead our core engineering operations and the team’s overall growth.”

“Expanding into the UK allows us to remain close to one of the most dynamic motorsport ecosystems in the world. Our vision is to create a strong and collaborative network between Hinwil, Neuburg, and the UK, fostering innovation and performance.”
By establishing a presence among the many F1 teams operating in the UK (or with a base there), Sauber’s move further isolates Ferrari. The Italian marque remains the only team without a facility in the UK, as its sole operational base remains in Maranello, Italy.
