Valentine’s Day was the chosen date for the Williams 2025 launch. Check out all the PHOTOS of the FW47 livery, the first car produced in Grove for Carlos Sainz!
On a crisp Valentine’s Day morning at Silverstone Circuit, Williams lifted the covers off the FW47, the car set to compete in the upcoming Formula 1 season. For the occasion, the Grove-based team unveiled the car with a special camouflage livery, featuring the logo of the team’s new title sponsor, designed specifically for today’s presentation. The FW47 also marks the first Williams car for Carlos Sainz, following his move from Maranello to Oxfordshire.

The launch event, attended by former Formula 1 driver Jenson Button in his role as team ambassador, was streamed live on Williams’ official YouTube channel and website, allowing fans worldwide to take part in the excitement. The event also featured lighthearted moments between Sainz and Albon, whom the F1 community has nicknamed “Carbono”—a playful mix of their names, Carlos and Albono (Alex Albon’s nickname).
“This is my favorite day of the year, and I’m feeling an overwhelming rush of emotions right now,” said James Vowles. Meanwhile, elsewhere on the Silverstone track, Williams mechanics were gearing up for Carlos Sainz’s first drive in the FW47.

The FW47 livery, revealed today, features a darker shade of blue compared to last year’s FW46. Additionally, much like McLaren, Williams will unveil its official race livery at the F1-75 event at London’s O2 Arena on February 18, where all teams will present their final designs ahead of the pre-season tests in Bahrain from February 26 to 28.
