Drive To Survive has captured the key moments of the season, including a lighthearted exchange (which you probably forgot) between Hamilton and Toto Wolff…

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was, unsurprisingly, a major talking point, especially in the early episodes of Netflix’s Drive To Survive, released on March 7.

While the American production crew managed to sneak into secret conversations and behind-the-scenes moments, they also highlighted public exchanges already known to fans—though presented in a more dramatic fashion.

Mercedes 2024: The Three Main Characters Joke Around

At the launch of the W15, Toto Wolff joked about Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari: “Did you see? We added a bit of red to the livery to help him get used to it…” said the Austrian with a hint of irony.

Hamilton quickly fired back: “Can I be honest? I tried to hold back, but… it’s not as nice as the last one. It looks like two halves of a car put together!” the Brit responded.

The fun continued with Russell joining in. After Wolff suggested “a special livery for Hamilton”, Mercedes’ new team leader added: “Great idea! That way, next year when he’s in a Ferrari, he can get a good look at it from behind.”

And the Red is Gone…

It’s just a coincidence, but a funny one: the red accents introduced by Ineos, a sponsor of the Brackley-based team, have actually disappeared with the new W16—following the end of the partnership between the two brands.
