Automobili Pininfarina Battista: The Most Powerful Street-Legal Italian Hypercar

by Nicola Lamberti

A few months ago, Michael Jordan gifted himself one for a few million euros: the Pininfarina Battista is the most powerful street-legal Italian hypercar ever built.

The version purchased by Michael Jordan in October was the “Targamerica,” a unique one-off that closely resembles the original model. Developed in collaboration with Rimac, the Turin-made hypercar has made its way across the ocean into the luxurious garage of one of the greatest basketball players of all time, the former Chicago Bulls No. 23. Its design is both elegant and sporty, built to harness an incredible 1,900 electric horsepower—a true beast on wheels.

A true “Record-Breaker,” the Battista ranks among the most powerful cars in the world, even surpassing the recently unveiled Bugatti Tourbillon. The Targamerica variant retains the classic GT’s design lines but features some unique additions—such as a custom-built cigar compartment inside the cockpit.

A one-of-a-kind vehicle… but let’s take a closer look at the “standard” version of this track monster.

Unparalleled Performance in a Unique Hypercar

The Battista boasts 1,900 HP powered by an all-electric drivetrain. Each wheel has its own motor, fueled by a 120 kWh battery, producing a total of 1,400 kW. The maximum torque reaches 2,340 Nm, while energy consumption is rated at 27.7 kWh per 100 km.

Without even realizing it, you hit 100 km/h, then 200, then 300 km/h. That’s because this Italian masterpiece rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.86 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 4.75 seconds, and smashes past 300 km/h in about 10 seconds—pushing the boundaries of imagination. The top speed? A staggering 350 km/h.

The car weighs around 2,200 kg, a remarkable feat considering its four electric motors. The entire body is made of carbon fiber, with additional aluminum components in the front and rear sections. The Pininfarina Battista is also equipped with top-tier Brembo brakes, allowing it to decelerate from 100 km/h to a complete stop in just 31 meters.

In short, this four-wheeled beast, engineered in Turin, once again solidifies Italy’s place at the pinnacle of the automotive world.
