Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, is still backing the Prancing Horse: “They’ll be back soon, along with McLaren…”
Ferrari’s current situation continues to spark debate in the Formula 1 paddock. While results remain inconsistent, there are still those who believe in the Maranello project. Among them is Stefano Domenicali, current President and CEO of Formula 1, who in an interview with La Politica nel Pallone for GR Parlamento shared encouraging words for the Scuderia.
Domenicali’s words
Here’s what the Imola-born manager had to say about Ferrari’s recent performances:
“I see a Ferrari that’s very close to those currently winning. The only advice I can give to Frederic Vasseur is to keep working with his head down, without feeling overwhelmed by the pressure — which is naturally part of such a role. This year, the gaps are so small that it’s the details that make the difference, and I’m confident we’ll soon see Ferrari back on the top step of the podium.”
Domenicali, who knows Ferrari well from his many years within the team, also focused on the new driver pairing that’s igniting the dreams of Tifosi around the world: Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. The seven-time world champion will wear red starting in 2025, and Domenicali has no doubts about the significance of the challenge ahead.
“Being Ferrari is something unique. I was talking about it with Hamilton, and he’s starting to realize what it means to wear the red suit. His move to Ferrari is an extraordinary sporting challenge: winning right away won’t be easy, but his determination and fighting spirit are the tools that will help him grow with the team.”
There was also high praise for Leclerc, whom Domenicali sees as a driver of exceptional talent:
“Charles is a fantastic driver, someone who doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to prove he’s the best. Ferrari has some great elements within the team — a strength not just for them, but for the whole world of Formula 1.”
In short: while the SF-25 struggles to meet expectations on track, confidence in the long-term vision of the project remains strong.
