Lewis Hamilton vents a little while analyzing his start to the season with Ferrari.
It’s been a longer-than-expected adaptation process for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. After five races, the Brit has yet to find his footing, and the promising result in China isn’t enough to offset a generally underwhelming performance from the seven-time world champion. Charles Leclerc seems to have found a completely different path, while Hamilton is still trying to identify which areas of the SF-25 need development.

During the press conference, the seven-time world champion reflected on his early days at Ferrari: “I don’t think everything depends on the past, and I don’t believe it’s tied to previous experiences. I just try not to think about it too much. I try not to focus on the opinions of people who don’t really know what’s going on, who’ve never been in my position. I keep my head down and continue to appreciate the work I’m doing with the people around me.”
The Briton then added: “It’s hard to explain. In the Sprint race you can’t make many changes. I think the main lesson is that we made almost no adjustments between practice and qualifying, whereas in all the other weekends we kept working on the car but ended up making it worse.”
On his relationship with Italy, Hamilton said: “I’m not living in Italy at the moment, but I want to find a way to spend more time there this year. My Italian? It’s not improving much, so I’ll need to work harder. The team is doing a great job. A lot has changed since my first days — for example, in the simulator. Everyone has been very responsive and supportive, and I’ve really appreciated that.”
