Marc Marquez in visible pain after Pre-Qualifying: concerns rise over his physical condition
Tense moments unfolded in the MotoGP paddock on Friday during the TT at Assen, as Marc Marquez suffered two high-speed crashes—one in the morning’s Free Practice session and another in the afternoon during Pre-Qualifying. While the second fall appeared less dramatic in terms of dynamics, it had a greater physical impact, leaving the Spaniard clearly in pain.
Marquez injury update
4:48 PM – As reported by Sandro Donato Grosso, Marquez is expected to head to the medical center shortly for further evaluation.
What happened?
The Ducati Lenovo rider lost control of his Desmosedici while traveling at over 200 km/h, crashing heavily into the gravel. He was helped up by track marshals and showed clear signs of pain, appearing to have suffered a significant impact to his abdomen and a trauma in the groin area. Back in the garage, Marquez was seen with a noticeable abrasion on his chin—likely caused by friction with the gravel—and also complained of pain in his hands.
Despite the physical setback, he managed to secure a spot in Q2 thanks to a fast lap completed just prior to the fall.

Alex Marquez, Marc’s brother, secured second place, while Marco Bezzecchi surprised many with a fourth-place finish aboard an Aprilia that continues to show encouraging progress.
