Charles Leclerc doesn’t hide his anger: “Tired of coming here and always saying something went wrong”

Frustrated over missing out on pole position or at least the front row, Leclerc appeared visibly disappointed during an interview with Sky Sport’s Mara Sangiorgio.

Here’s what he said specifically: “Pole? I don’t know, maybe we didn’t have it, because they were two tenths faster. But I definitely lost the front row, no doubt about that. That mistake in the last corner cost me,” explained the Monegasque. “But honestly, I’m a bit tired of coming here every time to say something didn’t go right. I’m not finding the same qualifying feel I had a year ago.”

Leclerc stressed that the issue is deeper than just car setup: “It’s something very specific, strange, but we know where it comes from. I think we have the solution. It’s not just about balance: in the race I’m good, but in qualifying I’m not, and that’s not okay. I need to work on it because qualifying has always been my strong point.”

Asked about technical solutions, the driver hinted it’s not just about upcoming upgrades: “No, I’m not talking about upgrades. There’s something else in the car we’ve never publicly discussed, and it’s better that way. But it complicates things. Hopefully the solution comes soon.”

On his ambitions, Leclerc remains determined to win despite the current struggles: “Starting sixth will be tough, unfortunately. The race pace is there, but starting at the back means getting stuck in traffic. Finding clean air will be crucial.”
