In 2027, there will be a real revolution, beyond the technical one, involving almost every rider on the grid.

2027 will be a revolutionary year for MotoGP, not only from a technical standpoint due to the regulation change but also for the grid, with numerous negotiations that will significantly alter the starting lineup for next season. Between official announcements, rumors, and leaks, the puzzle for next season is coming together, with announcements expected in the coming weeks or, at the latest, this summer.

As of now, the situation suggests that Ducati will be speaking Spanish in 2027, with Marc Marquez confirmed (and very close to renewing his two-year contract), while Pedro Acosta will be his partner; The current KTM rider, who is performing well in this early part of the season, signed a two-year contract with the Borgo Panigale team during testing in Malaysia and will finally be able to count on a competitive bike at any track. Acosta’s arrival at Ducati frees up Pecco Bagnaia, with the Turin native, who, after winning two world titles and coming close to a third in 2024, will leave the Emilian manufacturer to join Aprilia’s projects. He will partner with compatriot Marco Bezzecchi, signing a four-year contract (2+2), which will ensure stability within a team that has achieved three wins in as many races this season.

The domino effect will obviously also affect Jorge Martin, with the Spaniard moving to Yamaha and, according to the latest rumors, partnered by Ai Ogura: a completely new pairing, but one that is already familiar, given that both riders are riding for Aprilia in this championship. And Honda? The Japanese manufacturer, eager to return to its former glory, is investing a significant portion of its financial and technical resources in next season, and the rider lineup should be impressive. Fabio Quartararo‘s arrival is only a matter of making it official, having already signed in Sepang. Meanwhile, the battle for second place is ongoing: David Alonso has been gaining ground in recent weeks, but a possible confirmation of one of Luca Marini or Joan Mir isn’t out of the question.

KTM, finally, is negotiating on several fronts and could drastically shake up its current lineup. At the top of the Austrian team’s wish list is Alex Marquez (leaving the Gresini team), with the Spaniard potentially pairing with Brad Binder or Maverick Viñales. Up-and-coming Moto2 riders like Veijer and Agius also shouldn’t be ruled out. Last but not least, the moves of Fermin Aldeguer to Team VR46 and Dani Holgado to Team Gresini have been confirmed, while Toprak Razgatlioglu has been confirmed at Yamaha Pramac.
