A busy morning for Formula 1-related news, as two separate investigations are also touching the paddock.
An investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office has uncovered an alleged system of private parties with luxury escorts for wealthy clients, including Serie A footballers and figures from the sports world. Among the intercepted conversations, there is also a reference to a Formula 1 driver, although no official name has been identified so far.
The investigation, conducted by the Financial Police (and completely separate from another case reported earlier today), began after a complaint from an employee of a nightclub in the Milan outskirts. From there, investigators allegedly uncovered an organized network that arranged expensive post-match parties with exclusive services for selected high-profile clients.
According to investigators, the system was run by a company based in Cinisello Balsamo, led by a married couple and two associates, all currently under house arrest. The activity was reportedly promoted on social media through ads seeking “new collaborators” with strong interpersonal skills — a formula allegedly used to recruit escorts for private events.
“A friend who is an F1 driver…”: the wiretap and the money
In the intercepted material, there is also a direct reference to Formula 1. In one conversation, one of the suspects allegedly said: “I have a friend, a Formula 1 driver who is coming to Milan tonight, he wants a paid escort.” At this stage, however, no official names have been linked to the investigation.
The alleged service reportedly included nights at Milan nightlife venues, followed by stays in luxury hotels. The use of nitrous oxide during private parties is also mentioned in the case file. Authorities have seized around €1.2 million, believed to be proceeds from the activity. Around ten women, aged between 18 and 30, are said to have been involved, reportedly receiving about 50% of the payments.
The investigation is ongoing and now aims to clarify the role of clients and whether the network extended into other sporting and business environments.
