Having qualified in ninth place, Hadjar now risks a penalty due to an anomaly detected on the floor of his RB22
Red Bull can only partly celebrate after the Miami Grand Prix qualifying session. On one hand, Max Verstappen secured a brilliant front row start, missing out on pole position to Andrea Kimi Antonelli by just two tenths of a second while also setting the fastest second sector. On the other hand, the Milton Keynes-based team now faces a potential technical issue.
Floor found not compliant with measurement regulations
Isack Hadjar, who set the ninth-fastest time in qualifying, has come under FIA investigation and now risks receiving a penalty. During post-qualifying technical checks, scrutineers detected an irregularity in the floor area of car number 6.
As stated in the official FIA document, the side components of the floor were found to be outside the permitted parameters. In cases like this, disqualification from the qualifying results remains the most likely outcome. If the decision is confirmed, the starting grid for the Miami Grand Prix could be reshuffled.
