Here’s the live text coverage of MotoGP Practice in Barcelona: the fight for Q2 begins immediately!
After this morning’s FP1 session, topped by an improving Alex Marquez, it’s already time to get serious: the 22 MotoGP riders are battling for 10 direct spots in Q2, guaranteeing at least a top-12 starting position for both Saturday and Sunday.

16:03 – Final results are in! Pedro Acosta finishes P1, ahead of Alex Marquez and Brad Binder. Good session for Fabio Quartararo, who sneaks into Q2 in 10th.
16:00 – Marco Bezzecchi in fifth: the championship leader makes it through, while Martin will have to start from Q1.
15:58 – Mir and Martin crash: Jorge Martin is OUT of the top 10!
15:53 – Fourth fastest time for Mir: excellent result for the Honda rider, who then runs wide at Turn 1. Bagnaia is back on track: Pecco had returned to the garage to make changes to the bike setup.
15:50 – The standings with 10 minutes to go: Pecco Bagnaia is struggling badly, and now needs almost a miracle to secure direct access to Q2.
15:46 – Acosta-Binder-Bastianini: three KTMs are now leading the standings, but the rivals’ time attacks are still to come.
15:43 – Crash for Rins! Meanwhile, here are the first serious lap times: Brad Binder moves into P1 with a 1:38.9.

15:20 – Surprise! Valentino Rossi is also trackside wearing his team’s colours. Meanwhile, one of the Academy riders, Pecco Bagnaia, is back in the garage after struggling heavily so far.
