GTWC 2026: Starting Grid for the Monza 3 Hours — Italy on the Front Row!

Here is the starting grid for the Monza 3 Hours, the third round of the GT World Challenge Europe.

The first highly anticipated Italian round of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe is now just hours away. After Saturday’s running on 30 May and Sunday morning qualifying on 31 May, the verdict is in: pole position for the #64 Ford Mustang (Maini-Scherer-Drouet), ahead of the #99 Audi of Pereyra-Frassinetti-Ferrari, with the two Italian drivers delivering standout performances in qualifying. Completing the top three is another Mustang, the #65 of Wiebelhaus-Coseteng-Oosten, the best of the Gold Cup entries. Further back are Mattia Drudi (10th), Valentino Rossi (13th), and Arthur Leclerc (16th). The Verstappen Racing Team was penalized and drops to seventh on the grid.

The championship so far

Mattia Drudi, Nicki Thiim, and Marco Sørensen (Aston Martin #7) won the opening round at Paul Ricard and currently lead the overall standings. The second event at Brands Hatch marked the first Sprint Cup round of the season. On the British circuit, Ferrari and Porsche took the wins. Ferrari benefited from a penalty for the #3 Mercedes of Verstappen Racing, inheriting victory in Race 1 with Arthur Leclerc and Thomas Neubauer, while Bastian Buus and Riccardo Feller dominated Race 2.
