Marco Bezzecchi wins the race, with Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia joining him on the podium. Here is the live report from the 2026 MotoGP Italian Grand Prix at Mugello!

After a Sprint race that, admittedly, was not the most exciting of the season, it was finally time for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. One of the most beautiful circuits in the world delivered an unforgettable Sunday afternoon.

Lap 25 – MARCO BEZZECCHI WINS! A photo-finish battle for the podium sees Bagnaia reclaim third place from Ogura at the final corner. What a MotoGP spectacle!

Lap 25 – Final lap begins: Marco Bezzecchi is on his way to claiming his first-ever MotoGP victory at Mugello.

Lap 22 – Three laps remaining: the positions begin to settle.

Lap 20 – CONTACT! Ogura and Acosta touch at San Donato while battling for position. A winglet flies off the KTM, and the Spaniard drops to sixth place after also being overtaken by Di Giannantonio.

Lap 19 – The podium positions appear settled, but a fierce battle continues behind. Marquez starts dropping back and is passed by Di Giannantonio, who later apologises for a hard overtake.

Lap 17 – The standings at lap 17:

Lap 16 – Jorge Martin passes Bagnaia, while Acosta holds off Marquez: two position changes inside the top five.

Lap 14 – BEZZECCHI PASSES BAGNAIA! A brilliant move by the Aprilia rider at San Donato puts him into the lead. Meanwhile, Acosta and Marquez continue an exciting duel for fourth place.

Lap 12 – The standings at half distance: unfortunately, Enea Bastianini crashes out.

Lap 10 – Bagnaia leads Bezzecchi by three tenths, while Bezzecchi has a one-second advantage over Martin. The rest of the field is already 3.3 seconds behind the podium battle. Alex Rins crashes.

Lap 7 – A fantastic fight between Marquez and Acosta for fourth place. Both brake incredibly late, but the Ducati engine gives Marquez an advantage on the straights. Acosta fights back at Scarperia, but Marquez regains the position on the following straight.

Lap 4 – Bagnaia looks determined to break away. Meanwhile, Di Giannantonio struggles in tenth place, while Raul Fernandez climbs back to thirteenth after a difficult start.

Lap 3 – BAGNAIA TAKES THE LEAD! Pecco attacks Bezzecchi and moves to the front, while Marquez struggles to match the pace of the top three.

Lap 2 – Martin attacks but runs wide. It’s now Bezzecchi and Bagnaia at the front.

Lap 1 – LIGHTS OUT! Marco Bezzecchi leads the race ahead of Jorge Martin and an impressive Pecco Bagnaia. Disaster for Raul Fernandez, who runs wide at San Donato and drops to 17th.

14:00 – Warm-up begins.

13:50 – Ten minutes before the start: the Italian Air Force’s Frecce Tricolori fly over the circuit, creating a spectacular atmosphere for the fans.

13:02 – As usual, live timing is available. A reminder that the starting grid had been updated following yesterday’s penalties.
