With two world championships in 2017 and 2018 and three experiences with legendary teams—Mercedes, Ferrari, and now Sauber—he is set to embark on his final journey in the F1 SimRacing World Championship with Sauber Esports starting January 14th.

The message from the Sauber Esports SimRacer

This is how the 25-year-old Brit begins his message: “Hi, I’m Brendon Leigh. I’m here to announce that I’ll be retiring from racing in the Formula 1 SimRacing World Championship at the end of the current season.

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my journey, from when it was called F1 Esports to today in the world of F1 SimRacing. Teams, organizers, and even sponsors have all been part of my journey. Literally everyone who has helped me along the way—thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m truly grateful, and you have genuinely changed my life for the better.

Each of our lives follows a unique path. Sometimes, we have to change that path to keep growing and developing in the world. This is my simple goal in life: to keep evolving, even when it’s scary, to leave what’s comfortable and challenge myself in ways I never have before. With this approach to life, I hope to make the most out of every day I have on this planet, enjoying every moment I dream of and becoming the person I’ve always wanted to be.

With this mindset, I feel the need to face new challenges. I will complete this final season to the best of my abilities, savoring every moment, every lap, and treasuring every second. Because those memories will stay with me forever.

To the teams and organizations that have supported me—Sauber and RHE Esports, Ferrari and AK Informatica, and my very first team, Mercedes and Esports Plus Cars—thank you for giving me the resources to live my dream. To organizers like Gfinity, ESL, Codemasters, and Formula 1, thank you so much for providing me with a platform to perform on a global level.

And to the people who have made the biggest difference—more than you can imagine—you at home. Every message and all the support I’ve received throughout my career have always warmed my heart and inspired me to improve day after day, both on and off the track. You mean everything to me.

I hope to put together a final season we can all be proud of. But I know for sure I will enjoy every moment and every second, because those I’ve experienced so far have always meant the world to me.

Thank you so much, and I’ll see you on the track”, concludes Leigh.
