At the end of the qualifying session, Fernando Alonso once again lashed out at Ferrari, this time over their wet tires.
The Miami Grand Prix was brought forward by three hours (from 10:00 PM to 7:00 PM Italian time) due to adverse weather conditions that could compromise the race and, above all, the safety of spectators. According to forecasts, the GP could still be wet, with a 60% chance of rain in the central part of the race. Given the forecasts, therefore, the new wet tires could make their debut, and the first controversies are beginning to stir in the paddock.
Fernando Alonso sparked them, with the Asturian once again taking aim at Ferrari. Here are his comments in detail: “We have no chance in the dry, and probably not even in the wet; we don’t know what will happen in the wet; it will be the first time with these cars in these conditions. Only Ferrari can afford this luxury, because they do unlimited testing with Pirelli. We’re not Ferrari, so we have to learn during the races.”
This is yet another outburst against the Prancing Horse from the former Ferrari driver, relegated to the bottom of the standings with a car that’s struggling to emerge from the deep crisis it began the championship with. Nando, however, is referring to the tests conducted at Fiorano on April 9th and 10th, in wet conditions, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that the same tests had also been scheduled for Mercedes and McLaren in Bahrain, but were canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East.
