So far, a lackluster weekend for Lewis Hamilton, who finished sixth in qualifying.

Miami isn’t exactly looking up for Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion, who finished seventh in the Sprint Race, finished sixth in qualifying, behind George Russell and ahead of Oscar Piastri. Speaking to the microphones at the end of the session, the Ferrari driver apologized, blaming himself for not extracting maximum performance from his car, following the adjustments made between the Sprint Race and qualifying.

Here are Hamilton’s comments in detail: “We made a lot of changes to the car before the session, and the feeling in the cockpit was definitely better, especially in Q2, where we were quite competitive, while Q3 was more difficult. I wasn’t able to extract the maximum performance, and I’m convinced there was room to do better. I’m really grateful to the whole team for their hard work, both in introducing the updates and for what they’ve done to keep us moving forward. It’s a step in the right direction: we need to keep working together to get even more out of our car package.”
