It was a decidedly unremarkable weekend for Lewis Hamilton, who finished seventh overall.

Lewis Hamilton finished the Miami Grand Prix in seventh place, never having a chance to challenge the competition. Initial contact with Franco Colapinto jeopardized the British Ferrari driver’s race, as he was two to three tenths slower per lap due to a loss of at least 10 points of downforce. At the end of the Grand Prix, however, Lewis appeared before the press, speaking openly about the engine issues, emphasizing the car’s quality.

The thirty horsepower deficit is making itself felt, and Hamilton certainly didn’t mince his words. He stated: “We desperately need an engine upgrade, as it’s now become really difficult to compete with the Mercedes and Red Bull engines. I think we may have the best car, but we need a major engine upgrade. I know it will take time to close the gap, but we really need it.”.
